The Yale Baroque Opera Project will present Monteverdi’s
L’incoronazione di Poppea at 5 pm on Friday, May 2, and Saturday, May 3, 2014, at University Theatre, 222 York Street, New Haven, CT. Admission is free and unticketed. In Monteverdi’s last opera, love and ambition create a deadly mix as the beautiful Poppea and single-minded Nero plot to displace Ottavia, Nero’s wife, and crown Poppea the new Empress.
